To go River Walking is a new possibility for everyone to appreciate the tropical jungle paradise located under the highest European waterfall. Cascata delle
Marmore is operated by a dam at different times of the day. When the waterfall is open the Nera River has a 14 cubic meters flow per second; in that time interval
Rafting and Hydrospeed may be practised. When the waterfall is closed, the flow drops down to 120/180 liters per second and River walking is possible. Groups are accompanied in their descent of the natural pools formed on the river bed by a guide. This is a simple, relaxing activity to experince the unique environment of Marmore Waterfall Park.
For this activity no special requirement is needed and you do not have to be able to swim. At Marmore Center you may also practice river
walking, also known as river trekking. It is of a guided descent of the Nera river pools; accompanied by expert guides you may discover the park’s wonders and waterfalls from another point of view. With safety helmets, life jackets and ad-hoc shoes, guests can live the emotion of walking on the river bed. River Walking is suitable for everyone: it is a simple walk through woods and rocks, between shades and sun, water and paths.
